The U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, vintage 2024, cover the period 2020–2024. Dataset acs/acs5. Income measures are reported in 2024 inflation-adjusted dollars.

Fedabase stores NAME, B01003_001E (total population), B19013_001E (median household income), B19113_001E (median family income), and B19301_001E (per capita income) from the official Census Data API ACS 5-Year Detailed Tables. ACS 5-Year is annual; this site does not invent a new population each day.

When the official ACS 1-Year 2024 Detailed Tables (acs/acs1) return a geography, the same variable IDs are stored in nullable acs1_* columns. The Census Bureau publishes ACS 1-Year estimates for areas with populations of 65,000+. Counties below that threshold are absent from the 1-Year response and stay null — they are not filled in.

Among 52 cached states with a population estimate, California has the largest total population at 39,287,377 (B01003_001E). Wyoming has the smallest at 582,397.

Among 52 cached states with a median household income estimate, District of Columbia is highest at $109,870 (B19013_001E, 2024 dollars). Puerto Rico is lowest at $26,297.
